Take the first step today.
Welcome everyone. My name is Christian Moran and I’m a mind-body practitioner and coach. I am based in New York City, and Washington, DC and available to help clients throughout the U.S. and around the world.
If you are here to find out more about how to resolve chronic pain for yourself or a loved one, you’ve come to the right place. I know for many of you it’s been a long and frustrating road.
But I’m here with great news.

There’s a revolution underway in the understanding of chronic pain and how to resolve it for good.
Decades ago, Dr. John Sarno, MD, in New York City, pioneered a new way of healing most chronic pain, and now, his insights are being validated in clinical trials and new treatment diagnostics and protocols. The exciting news? Most chronic pain can be effectively resolved using the brain’s neuroplasticity, which controls pain sensations.
Your pain is real, but it often stems from learned neural pathways, not a structural problem in the body. While this might sound surprising, it's backed by solid evidence—evidence you can see for yourself. That’s why these healing methods are so effective in overcoming a wide variety of chronic symptoms. The era of “managing” your pain with medication or surgery is coming to an end.
With the knowledge shared here, you can experience real, lasting healing. Give yourself the chance to overcome these symptoms and be free.
I look forward to helping you set yourself free from chronic pain.
Chronic pain may affect as many as 100 million Americans, almost one third of the U.S. population, and most people will experience chronic pain at some point in their lives.

In 2006 as my wedding approached, what started as mild back pain turned debilitating, leaving me bedridden for over 2 weeks. I had had cortisone injections and acupuncture and was about to move forward with spinal fusion (on the advice of my doctor) when Christian suggested I apply the mindbody methods of Dr. Sarno. He told me he was confident that I had a mindbody symptom, that in his judgment the pain was due to current circumstances in my life and not the anatomy of my back. Skeptical, I decided to trust Christian, and began to read, journal, reflect, and pray. How did Christian know that Dr. Sarno's theories applied to me? While I was excited to get married, were emotional factors - like huge responsibilities ahead - really the cause of my physical pain? Finally frustrated beyond belief, in bed and in excruciating pain, I decided enough was enough and forced myself out of bed, focusing on the psychological factors and not the physical. What was my back telling me? Sure enough, from that moment on the pain started to melt away. That was proof for me that the theories did apply to me. All that I had read and heard was true. Amazingly, now that I’m married now, I have even more stresses than before but I do not have chronic back pain anymore, and I play the sports I love. Whenever I get an inkling of back pain (once every few years) I’m able to resolve it by remembering what I learned from Christian and Dr. Sarno, and how the mindbody syndrome works. Even now, this incredible mindbody education from 2006 continues to pay dividends. It has changed my life.”

“I suffered for years with various aches and pains, which doctors called fibromyalgia. They gave me various medications which when I took them, would improve my pain symptoms but only for a time. Then other new (or old) pains would surface in different parts of my body. It was exhausting and discouraging, to say the least. Christian told me something that I had never been told before. He said he believed fibromyalgia was fundamentally an emotional phenomenon even though it was being expressed in the body, and that if I addressed it as an emotional challenge, he thought it would be cured. He recommended a number of books to me - including Sarno and others - which addressed fibromyalgia as a psychologically caused chronic pain condition. So much of what I was reading resonated with me and my background, emotions, and personality. I still had a lot of questions, and Christian helped me work through some of them. It was not a quick fix, but I began to journal more, connect my body to my emotions more, and I started to see gradual improvement. The more I accepted my pains as being emotional in nature, the more the pain symptoms diminished. Fast forward to today, ten years later, and I know that recognizing my fibromyalgia as part of a mindbody syndrome was fundamental to my recovery. The life I live now is night and day compared to what it was.”

"For five years prior to meeting Christian, I was living with daily pain in my joints. The rheumatologists I saw were quick to diagnose rheumatoid arthritis and push harsh-sounding medication, which I refused to take. I explored many functional and holistic alternatives and made significant, but inconsistent progress in managing my symptoms. Christian was the first person I spoke with who not only believed my gut feeling that the emotional stress I had experienced was part of my pain, but he insisted that I needed to reject the idea that my symptoms were purely physical and accept a new paradigm for healing. The next day, putting his advice into practice, I decided to go for a run. I reminded myself that I had no structural defects, and for the first time in years, I completed a run without it being cut short by pain. It was a huge breakthrough that confirmed for me that it indeed was my mind that was in control of my pain sensations."

“My journey through chronic pain is currently a work-in-progress. I have had multiple back surgeries and even one that led to pulmonary edema. Over 100 physical therapy sessions, pain meds, therapy, more pain meds, etc etc, etc. I am in the process of learning more from Christian about mindbody pain theories, which doctors have never bothered to tell me about. I’ve been impressed with his expertise, his detailed knowledge of the latest research and treatments, and the fact that he dedicated his Master’s thesis to the psychological roots of chronic pain. I have had all this pain for years and doctors have never told me about this, and yet what the treatments he is telling me about is coming from serious researchers, clinical trials, doctors, and psychologists that actually cure chronic pain like mine. Why don’t more people know about this? What I’m hearing makes perfect sense. Even so, I challenge him, but it seems he always has an answer based on evidence. Right now, my pain is lower than usual, but I’m on high alert, you might say, for the next time, and I trust Christian’s judgment and knowledge of the treatments in this field.”
